Affirmations That Work: How I Manifested a Luxury Rooftop Dinner and $10k Months

In the world of self-development, few tools are as powerful—and as accessible—as affirmations. As a holistic wealth coach, I’ve experienced firsthand how affirmations can transform lives—not just financially, but emotionally and spiritually. This transformation isn’t just a theory for me; it’s personal. I’ve manifested incredible experiences, from attracting a luxurious rooftop dinner to consistently hitting $10k months in my business.

These aren’t random lucky breaks—they’re the result of a committed practice with affirmations. Today, I’m sharing my personal journey with affirmations, showing you how this simple but effective tool can help you manifest your desires—whether that’s financial freedom, deeper relationships, or a greater sense of balance.

I’ll walk you through the three affirmation techniques that have been most impactful in my life: journaling, visual aids like sticky notes and vision boards, and surrender statements. Along the way, I’ll share personal stories of how these practices changed my mindset and brought my goals to life.

The Power of Affirmations in Journaling

Journaling is where my journey with affirmations began. There’s something grounding about putting pen to paper, and when you combine this practice with affirmations, it becomes a powerful tool for rewiring your mindset and manifesting your goals.

A few years ago, I found myself stuck—financially, emotionally, and mentally. I felt disconnected from my goals and unsure of my direction. That’s when I discovered affirmation journaling. Every morning, I committed to writing down affirmations that aligned with my deepest desires. Statements like “I am worthy of financial abundance” and “I attract wealth effortlessly” filled my journal pages.

At first, it felt strange—like writing fiction. But over time, subtle shifts began to happen. My mindset started changing. I began to notice opportunities where none existed before, and my energy attracted what I wanted.

One of my favorite manifestations happened during this time. I had been affirming that I was open to receiving financial blessings. Before a planned girls’ trip to Las Vegas, I set a specific intention: to experience a luxurious rooftop dinner. I had even toyed with the idea of attracting a sugar daddy (because, hey, who hasn’t?). And guess what? During that trip, I met an older gentleman at a casino table who invited me to dinner at a stunning rooftop restaurant. I didn’t have to worry about the bill—it was all taken care of! While the sugar daddy idea didn’t pan out (because, let’s be real, I wasn’t willing to give the “sugar” 😂), the experience proved that affirmations really work.

As I continued journaling, my manifestations grew bigger. I hit my first $10k month in my business, a goal I had been affirming for months. Affirmations allowed me to shift my beliefs, attract abundance, and unlock new levels of growth.

How to Use Affirmations in Your Journaling Practice

Here’s a simple step-by-step process to make affirmation journaling work for you:

  1. Set Your Intention: Begin each journaling session by focusing on what you want to manifest—whether it’s financial freedom, healthier relationships, or personal growth.

  2. Write Your Affirmations: Write down 5–10 affirmations in the present tense. For example, instead of “I don’t want to be broke,” write “I am financially abundant.”

  3. Feel the Affirmations: As you write, imagine your life once your affirmations become reality. Feel the joy, peace, or excitement they bring.

  4. Repeat Daily: Consistency is key. Write your affirmations every day to keep your energy and intentions aligned.

Visual Affirmations: The Power of Sticky Notes and Vision Boards

While journaling internalizes affirmations, visual aids like sticky notes and vision boards keep your intentions visible throughout the day.

After a few years of journaling, I decided to amplify my affirmation practice by creating a vision board. I carefully selected images and words representing my goals: consistent $10k months, travel, love, and professional growth. Placing the board where I’d see it daily (hello, morning motivation!) was a game-changer.

I paired this with affirmations like:

  • “I am a successful holistic wealth coach.”

  • “I attract clients who value my work and pay me abundantly.”

The results were transformative. Opportunities started flowing: more clients, speaking invitations, and consistent $10k months became my norm.

Sticky notes were another secret weapon. I wrote affirmations on notes and placed them on my bathroom mirror, fridge, and laptop. Seeing these reminders throughout the day helped me stay aligned with my goals and reinforced positive beliefs.

How to Create and Use Vision Boards and Sticky Notes

  1. Gather Your Materials: For a vision board, you’ll need a board, magazines, or printouts of images and words that resonate with your goals. For sticky notes, simply have a pad of notes and a pen.

  2. Choose Your Affirmations and Images: Select affirmations and images that represent your deepest desires. These should evoke strong positive emotions when you see them.

  3. Assemble Your Vision Board: Arrange the images and affirmations on your board in a way that feels inspiring. There’s no right or wrong way to do this—just go with what feels good.

  4. Place Sticky Notes Strategically: Write affirmations on sticky notes and place them in locations where you’ll see them multiple times a day. This keeps your affirmations in your conscious mind throughout the day.

  5. Engage with Your Visuals: Spend a few moments each day looking at your vision board and reading your sticky notes. Visualize your goals as if they’ve already been achieved, and feel the emotions associated with those accomplishments.

Surrender Statements: Letting Go to Manifest More

Affirmations focus on what you want, but surrender statements help you let go of the "how" and "when." They’re about releasing control and trusting the universe to deliver what’s best.

In my journey, I realized holding onto specific outcomes was blocking my manifestations. I was too focused on how things should happen instead of allowing them to unfold.

A surrender statement I love is: “I trust that everything is unfolding perfectly, even if I can’t see it now.” This practice helped me stop obsessing over outcomes and embrace unexpected opportunities.

For example, during a frustrating period in my business, I surrendered my plans and stayed open. Shortly after, I was invited to collaborate on a project I hadn’t considered. That project turned out to be one of the most successful ventures I’ve been a part of, surpassing my original goals.

How to Use Surrender Statements

  1. Acknowledge Your Desire: Start by acknowledging what you want to manifest. Be clear about your goals and intentions.

  2. Create Your Surrender Statement: A surrender statement should focus on trust and letting go. Some examples include:

    • "I surrender to fear because I trust that the universe is bringing me exactly what I need."

    • "I surrender my need to control the outcome because I believe in the universe’s ability to work its magic."

    • "I surrender to denying my right to abundance because I am open to receiving in ways that I cannot yet imagine."

  3. Repeat and Release: Whenever you find yourself getting attached to a specific outcome, repeat your surrender statement. Let go of the need to control how or when your manifestation will happen. Trust that the universe has your back.

  4. Stay Open to Possibilities: By surrendering, you open yourself up to receiving in ways you might not have considered. Be open to opportunities that come your way, even if they don’t match your original plan.

Bringing It All Together: Affirmations, Visuals, and Surrender

Using journaling, visual aids, and surrender statements together creates a powerful manifestation practice. Journaling rewires your beliefs, visual aids keep your goals visible, and surrendering lets the universe do its magic.

Why Affirmations Work

Affirmations aren’t just feel-good words—they’re grounded in psychology and neuroscience. By repeating affirmations, you:

  • Reprogram your subconscious mind to believe new, empowering thoughts.

  • Raise your vibrational frequency, attracting high-energy experiences like abundance and success.

  • Create self-fulfilling prophecies, where belief turns into action and results.

Manifestation isn’t about luck. It’s about aligning your mindset, energy, and actions to bring your goals to life. So, grab your journal, create a vision board, and write some surrender statements. Your dreams are waiting for you to claim them.
